Minutes of the A.P.C.M. held at

St. John of Jerusalem Church

24th April 2005

 

1.       Apologies  were received from Revd. Sharon Connell and Datoru Paul-Worika,

 

2.       Minutes  The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed.

 

3.       The Electoral Roll was presented by the Officer, Mavis Bucchan.  She reported that there had been sixteen new members and that 2 had died, leaving a total of 100.  She was thanked by those present.

 

4.       The Secretary’s report was presented along with the Annual Reports.

 

5.       The Treasurer, Keith Wilkinson presented the Accounts  for the calendar ending 31st December 2004.  He noted the following:

-        The increase in funds over the year was £2 975 though this did not include an expected tax rebate (c£3000).  He appealed for Gift Aid cards to be signed.

-        The Insurance Premium had been increased to give further cover but it would be desirable to increase this further.

-        The figures for Trade Craft only included banked money until 31st December 2004. 

-        Generally, the financial situation was better than expected at the last meeting. Partly through an increase in the rental from the hire of the building.

 

The Accounts were accepted nem. con. The Treasurer was thanked for his report and work throughout the year.

 

6    The Auditor was also thanked, particularly as he had had little time to look over the figures since they were presented at the most recent PCC meeting.  A vote appointing him as auditor for the next year was proposed by Jane Alty, seconded by Mavis Bucchan and passed nem. con.

 

7.       Various Reports in the form of a combined Annual Report document were accepted by the meeting.

 

8.       The following were elected to the P.C.C. without opposition.

Jane Alty, Kendal Bassarath, Elma Burton, Carole Bramson, William Chapman, Marjorie Fuller, Stephen Haigh, Catherine Harris, Paul Higgins, Doreen Robinson and Margaret White.

 

Kenneth Bassarath and Donna Cordwell were elected as Deanery Synod Representatives.

 

9         Under AoB the new PCC were encouraged not to lose sight of the development project.  James said that he was grateful for having such a “rich congregation – people with many different gifts” and thanked so many who had contributed to the life of the church throughout the year.   

 

10     The first meeting of the new P.C.C. was set as 19th May.
