Celebrating the Millenium

The celebrations for Christmas and the New Year are rapidly approaching and, like all such festivities, we may soon be wondering what all the fuss was about. This year will be uniquely special as we enjoy the last Christmas of the 1900s and welcome the year 2000. For many, however, January 1st will be little different from any other new day, bringing with it the same old problems, tensions, heartaches and pains of daily survival. The change of year will be a permanent reminder of the existence of the Christian Church for 2000 years and its purpose in trying to help us come to terms with the world in which we live. For many centuries the People of God have sought a way of dealing with the complexity, uncertainty and injustice of our way of life and of trying to make the world a better place for us all. The church proclaims a God of love revealed in the life of Jesus Christ whose purpose is the call to participate in the continuing victory of good over evil. We hope that you will be able to join us in this special time of celebration and renewal.

Ring in the Millenium

We need more ringers to sound the bells when the year 2000 dawns. Come and join us! It's fun! People of all ages can do it and you do not need to be a churchgoer. Practice on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm. Help us to join the nationwide ringing in of the Millenium on January 1st at 12.00 noon.
