RECTOR (INCUMBENT)

St John of Jerusalem is an inclusive Church in the liberal catholic tradition, located within the vibrant and lively Community of Victoria Park, South Hackney. Our congregation is culturally and socially diverse, with enthusiastic lay participation in services and the life of the parish.

Our Church School is flourishing and has recently received an excellent Ofsted report.

We are seeking a Rector who will help us grow in faith and spread the word of God to the wider community. The Rector will be:

Ø Theologically well versed with an open, questioning mind

Ø Able to inspire a diverse congregation of varying backgrounds and generations

Ø Comfortable with young children

Ø Confident in supporting lay people in their activities and ministry within the Church and community

Ø Organised and able to cope with a variety of committee and chairing tasks

Ø Able to help maintain the fabric of the Church and work towards development of the Church building

Ø Happy to continue to promote the vibrant life of the Parish including our musical tradition
